1) Write a short note to your spouse describing something that is positive in your marriage.
2) Write a short note to your spouse describing something that is a problem in your marriage.
3) Write a short note to your spouse describing what you can do to help solve the problem--- not what they need to do, but what you will do.
4) Share the notes with each other, beginning with the positive. Pray for God's guidance as you discuss the notes you wrote identifying problems-- this may be difficult, so don't rush. Repeat what your spouse has said and ask for clarification where needed. Then share the ways you intend to work on the problem. After hearing what your spouse intends to do, talk about what small steps you both might take to continue to talk and pray about this situation.
